1. London:
Well, the Capital had to make our Top 5, of course! If you’re planning a sunny walk with man’s best friend, head down to Clapham Common. Even the most curmudgeonly canine can’t help but get excited at the vending machine that the park has to offer, especially for dogs! Your pet will have to complete challenges, such as sprinting after a tennis ball which pops out of the vending machine and return it before picking up their treat.2. Manchester:
Whether you’re a United, or a City supporter, one thing is for certain; you’ll love Heaton Park. Not only is it the largest park in Manchester, it’s also perfect for our furry friends as there’s so much parkland to play fetch in! For you nature lovers, there are nine listed structures which make Heaton Park a listed Grade 2 park on the English Heritage Register of Parks.
3. West Yorkshire:
For picture perfect off lead walkies, take a trip to Pugneys Country Park. The stunning lake is perfect for cooling your dog down after a long walk on the 250 acre site. Remember to take a ball with you for a game of fetch, as the small wooded area is the perfect location to exercise your dog. There’s even a hot hose available to wash off those muddy feet and paws when your walk comes to an end.4. Hampshire
If you’re local to the Hampshire area, it’s worth paying a visit to Manor Farm and Country Park; there’s so much for your furry friend to enjoy. Keep him active with a splash in the river, or take a trip to the exercise field which is an enclosed area especially for pooches. There’s 400 acres of woodland to keep your pup panting and it’s absolutely free, so what are you waiting for?5. Essex:
A park with a pub! At Langdon Hills Country Park in Essex you get the best of both worlds; a healthy walk and a bucket of water at the pub for your pooch to enjoy after you’ve worn him out. The park is beautiful and great for all the family, with a picnic area on site for those sunny days. The off lead area is a huge bonus and means your four-legged friend is free to stretch his legs to his heart’s content. Play fetch in the fields, wander off-piste for a ramble through the trees; there’s plenty of sights and sounds to keep those tails wagging. If you manage to get down to any of these parks over the Bank Holiday weekend, or have any other suggestions for fellow dog owners of picturesque parks, let us know over on our Twitter or Facebook pages.
